Cleanliness of Equipment & Person Policy

PURPOSE

It is the responsibility of everyone employed by KBD Transportation to uphold the company image.


SCOPE

At KBD Transportation, it is paramount that our customers, as well as the general public, receive a good impression of both our equipment and drivers.  How you portray yourself is a reflection of the entire company.

All employees will:    

  • Appear well groomed and neatly dressed in appropriate attire.  Cut-off shorts and shirts with potentially offensive pictures or writing must not be worn.
  • Wear only clothing that is in reasonably good shape, without holes and stains.
  • Understand that shipper/receiver requirements must be met and will override this policy.
  • Ensure that their vehicle is kept neat and clean, clear of debris.

The employer will:

  • Perform random truck inspections as part of the monthly Health & Safety Workplace Inspection.
  • Enforce this policy by means of holding the employee responsible for the cost of cleaning any truck that does not meet the standards for cleanliness.
  • Exercise all appropriate disciplinary action (Ref:  Progressive Discipline Policy), up to and including termination of employment for violation of the terms of this policy.
