7-Point Inspection Procedure
7-POINT TRAILER INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- OUTSIDE / UNDERCARRIAGE
- Inspect prior to entering facility.
- Support beams should be visible.
- OUTSIDE / INSIDE DOORS
- Secure and reliable locking mechanisms.
- Look for different colour bonding material.
- Look for loose bolts.
- Check plates and any reapirs.
- RIGHT SIDE
- Look for any unusual repairs to structural beams.
- Repairs to the walls on the inside of the container must be visible on the outside.
- Use a tool to tap side walls. Listen and feel for hollow sound!
- LEFT SIDE
- Look for any unusual repairs to structural beams.
- Repairs to the walls on the inside of the container must be visible on the outside.
- Use a tool to tap side walls. Listen and feel for hollow sound!
- FRONT WALL
- Check that blocks and vents are visible.
- Use a tool to tap front wall. Listen and feel for hollow sound!
- A range-finder, measuring tape, and/or string can be utilized to determine the length of the van.
- CEILING / ROOF
- Ensure ceiling is a certain height from the floor and that blocks and vents are visible.
- Is there an uncomfortable feeling inside the trailer?
- Repairs to the ceiling on the inside of the container should be visible on the outside.
- Use a tool to tap the ceiling. Listen for a hollow sound!
- FLOOR (INSIDE)
- Floor should be a certain height from the ceiling.
- Floor should be flat. Do not need to step up to get inside!
- Are there different floor heights?
- Are there any unusual repairs?
